
Jenifer writes book & lyrics for musicals, both adapted and original stories. She's a graduate of the Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She also teaches musical theatre writing craft, and general aspects of the art of storytelling and collaboration, and has written guidelines on business aspects of the musical theatre writing business that are used by MMD and the Writers Guild of Great Britain. A new adaptation of the Hans Andersen fairy tale, in collaboration with composer Alexander Rudd, directed by Julia Black. Staged by Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in December 2009 and now in further development.
The Savage by David Almond will be given a new adaptation from scratch, as a dance/choral-based project in development with YMT:UK in the summer of 2010.
Jenifer is working with LIPA to organise the next MThe:UK event in 2010. MThe:UK is a group of institutes and individuals who teach musical theatre in higher education in the UK.
She also teaches musical theatre writing to BA Creative Arts students at the University of Portsmouth.
The Savage by David Almond (who also wrote Skellig) is a short graphic/novel that was adapted into a short piece of music theatre, for a cast of young people who devised the music using innovative composition software developed at MIT.

A study of the process of writing and the actual work of art, this will be the creation of a new piece of musical theatre, from scratch, live in front of an audience, in collaboration with composers Steve Edis and Harvey Brough, as part of the Arcola's Grimeborn Festival in August 2009.

An original story based on the life of Horatio Nelson, in collaboration with composer Cathy Shostak, musical supervisor Mark Warman and director David Gilmore. Presented at the Soho Theatre in October 2005 to celebrate the bicentennial of Nelson's great victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, and to toast the immortal memory.
Adaptation of the novel by Sandi Toksvig, in collaboration with the author, and with composer Dominic Haslam. Small cast chamber musical with adult performers, based on the Toksvig family's experience in the Danish resistence movement during World War II. Currently in development.
