Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre has a large youth and TIE department, and Jenifer has been a creative practitioner with them over the years that they have developed and produced her musicals for young people. She's lead classes with both 8-12 year-olds and teenagers, working on both existing texts, new work and work devised in the room.
She has also participated in residential courses as creative practitioner for YMT:UK, working with young people from the age of 12 to 21, exploring the development of new material in the room, as well as aspects of stage presentation such as object animation and other forms of puppetry.
In connection with her shows for young people to perform, Jenifer runs workshops that last from an hour to a day, on all aspects of and around the show the youth group is presenting. For example, a workshop on Shake, Ripple & Roll will include an exploration of 1950s music, dance, costumes and customs as well as some work on scenes and songs from the show.Jenifer is CRB checked and registered to work with young people. She's more than happy to discuss any workshop collaborations with schools and youth groups, including commissions for shows written and tailored to a group's specific requirements.
(Actually, it's less expensive than you'd think.)
